We were so excited when we heard that my cousin Dean was getting married and couldn't wait for his wedding which was taking place on Bainbridge Island. My Aunt Deenie and Uncle Darryl have lived on the island for many years and Dean has continued to live on the island as well. Unfortunately, my Uncle Darryl passed away a couple years ago but we were ready to celebrate Dean's big day in the kind of fashion Uncle Darryl would appreciate. He was so missed along with my Dad but they were both in our thoughts and we know they were partying along with us.
We started off the day running a little late. My mom and Beeboo were meeting at our house and then we had to run into Snohomish to get Hayden a new pair of shoes and then heading to the ferry. Just as we were leaving Snohomish Jeni called and said they missed the 2pm ferry(it was full). We were hoping to make the 3pm ferry. We were feeling a little stressed. To add to the stress the traffic was horrific through Northgate. I guess we should have realized people were going to be out and about on Memorial Day weekend. To make a long story short we couldn't drive on the ferry, it was full. We opted to park and and walk on. My Mom had three huge gift boxes to carry and we were literally running to catch the ferry, we probably had 5 minutes to spare. We made the same ferry as Jeni, Cory and the girls. Once we made the ferry we had to figure out how to get to the wedding. I guess if worse comes to worse we could catch a taxi. We ended up getting a hold of Brandy and she was going to be able to take 4 of us and then we saw one of Deenie's good friends Stephanie and she had room for 2 of us and I was able to squeeze in with Jeni and Cory. Traffic was so backed up off the ferry we got to the ferry at 4pm on the dot. Jeesh!!
The wedding was in a beautiful church. And they couldn't have asked for better weather. The reception was held at a local country club and it was absolutely fabulous. They actually had babysitters for the kids downstairs along with pizza. The kids loved it!! Colton was happiest with us dancing up a storm. But he did go back and forth a bit. We had so much fun!!

They had kids at the end of the night with min-vans shuttling people home or to the ferry and it worked out perfect. We didn't think about it until we were on the ferry to the wedding that nobody paid for parking. We were dreading the ticket when we got back to Seattle but we must have slipped through the cracks because we didn't have a ticket. What a way to end a perfect night!!
