4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

Wow, it was a scorcher! You couldn't have asked for better weather. We ended up just staying at home this year, which always turns out nice. My side of the family had plans but almost all of Tony's family came over. Grandma Irene bought the kids a dual racing slip and slide and the kids loved it. Carsyn and Hayden are lucky to have some great neighborhood friends who came over in the afternoon and broke in the new slip and slide. My kids don't usually like water in their face but they had no fear. Maybe it was the heat but they were loving getting wet.

Most of the family came over after 4:00pm and we BBQ'd steaks, burgers and hot dogs. (Good job Tony!!) We had a bunch of salads, chips-n-dips, fruit and dessert. Everything was awesome.

Everyone stayed late to watch the big fireworks from our deck, which ended around 11:00pm. Since it didn't get dark until so late we still had a few fireworks to light off which didn't please our new neighbor. He actually came over and asked how much longer they were going to go for. Of course he came up to the women watching the show not the 6 foot 4 men lighting them off. We ended around 11:30pm with our neighbor lurking by his garage the entire time, he even stayed out while the guys were cleaning up. Welcome to the neighborhood!!

Anyway, we all had a blast! I actually didn't feel well by the end of the night, I think I had to much fun in the sun and didn't drink any water all day!! I definitely learned my lesson.
