PTA Spring Auction!

My friend Janet and I decided to help with the PTA Spring Auction. We thought we would help with the decorating committee, thinking it would be the easiest. Well we ended up being asked to co-chair the decorating committee. (whatever that means) We hesitantly said yes, really not realizing we and a budget of zero $$$. They expected us to get all donations. We ended up getting some great donations. We had Everything Party and Display and Costume donate $50.00 gift certificates, Ben Franklin donated a $40.00 gift certificate (which we spent on all the balloons), Safeway donated a beautiful bouquet of roses, and we had the idea to cover the tables with butcher paper so everyone could doodle during the auction. We were able to to use the schools paper and Red Robin donated a 100 boxes of crayons. I was a little unsure how it would be to have to ask for donations but everyone was surprisingly kind and generous, especially in this horrible economy. Despite the economy I think the event turned out OK. But we were really excited about how the decorations turned out.
It's hard to tell from these pictures but it really did look great.
Here is the check in table.
As you can tell the theme was Red, White and Blue.

Since I had done a lot of the calling for donations Janet was very sweet to bring me a fabulous bouquet of roses and a wonderful thank you. It really was a lot of fun!!
