Thomas Farm Field Trip

Hayden's 2nd grade class had their end of year field trip to Thomas Farms.  Hayden requested I chaperone and of course I said yes!  I imagine he wont want me tagging around soon enough so I need to take advantage of this time.
The field trip was actually a lot of fun.  It was only a short 15 minute bus ride and Hayden's school had free reign of the farm, which made it really easy to keep track of the kiddos.  They had different activities throughout the 3 hours.  First the kids played in Kid-land, which included huge tires to climb on, put-put golf, hay maze, hula hoops, balls, spider net.   Then we got on the tracker for a quick ride then headed out to the fields to plant a pumpkin seed.  The kids got to mark their pumpkin seed with their name so they can come back in the fall to find it.  Last but not least each kid ahead of time picked whether they wanted Gems, Fossils or Arrowheads.  Hayden picked arrowheads.  They all received a big bag of sand with treasures inside.  There was a man-made stream and screens for the kids to sift through their sand to find their hidden treasures.  The kids LOVED this.  They all had so much fun and were so excited and happy when they found their treasures.
The weather was fabulous so everyone had lunch outside then it was time to pack back on the bus and head back to school.
