Time at the Museum

Hayden's 2nd grade class had an end of year project, Time at the Museum.  They had to pick a famous person, study up on them, memorize 5-6 facts about them and then dress like them.  We went round and round with Hayden trying to pick a person he was interested in.  He finally agreed on Abe Lincoln, I thought there would be plenty of facts and it would be fairly easy to dress like him.  Unfortunately, another classmate already chose Honest Abe.  So we finally came up with Babe Ruth.  Of course Hayden thought he was going to get a Yankees jersey out of the deal but there was no way that was going to happen.  Not spending $100 bucks on a jersey he would probably only wear for this project.  I asked a few friends if they had some old baseball stuff with no luck and then decided to throw it out to my facebook friends and I totally scored.  An old classmate's son just did a similar project on Babe Ruth so they had the old school Yankee's hat to borrow and my friend actually made him a jersey using a white t-shirt and a sharpie.  It turned out fabulous.  I had another friend lend us some old-school pinstriped short baseball pants that worked perfectly.
Hayden did awesome remembering is lines, he was very clear and loud in reciting this fact to all of his classmates parents that came around and pushed his "on" button, which was on his baseball.

We had a little extra time and we were able to head over to Alyvia's classroom and here her do her project on Pocahontas.  Very cute.
